A $1 Bill that was worth pure, precious silver!
Did you know that up until 1964, certain paper money was redeemable for silver on demand? That’s right, there were bills called Silver Certificates and if you had one, you could go to the bank and get actual silver dollars – like Morgans and Peace Dollars – in exchange for the paper bill. This was when our money was truly backed by actual silver and gold, not the promise to pay that the Government gives you today. These small-size Silver Certificates could be recognized by their distinctive blue seals and serial numbers. Our Mint Master has been lucky enough to locate a hoard of some of the last surviving silver certificates – in magnificent Almost Uncirculated condition! Each will feature a vibrant blue seal and serial numbers and the all-important legend, “This Certifies That There Is On Deposit In The Treasury Of The United States Of America One Dollar In Silver – Payable To The Bearer On Demand.” Now, even though these bills are still legal tender, you can no longer get silver if you redeem them… a poignant reminder of how our monetary system used to be. Don’t delay, order now!
