Our Tribute to the Gun that Shot John Wesley Hardin

One of the Old West’s most notorious outlaws was John Wesley Hardin, a killer who took his first life when he was just 15 years old. Depending on who you ask – including Hardin himself – he killed at least 21 men and maybe as many as 40. In fact, he was so cold blooded that he shot a man just for waking him up with his snoring! After spending 14 years in prison for killing a sheriff, Hardin relocated to El Paso, Texas. And while he seemed to give up the outlaw life, he never outgrew his violent temper. That would be his downfall when he threatened El Paso police officer John Selman. A few days later Selman went looking for Hardin and found him shooting dice in the Acme Saloon. Without a word, Selman drew his Colt Army Revolver, and shot Hardin in the back of the head, ending his outlaw career once and for all. Hardin was so loathed, the jurors at Selman’s trial acquitted him of any wrongdoing. Now you have the chance to own your own “Gun That Shot John Wesley Hardin.” True to the original, our non-firing tribute features a realistic trigger, cylinder and hammer action and comes with a 5.5” barrel – the same as Selman’s historic sidearm – along with black checkered grips and an antique grey finish.
