NGC Certified GSA Morgan Dollars
Coins from the Carson City Mint have an almost mystical appeal to collectors. And the most desirable of them all are GSA Carson City Dollars. In 1964, the Treasury made a shocking discovery during a vault audit - 3000 bags of silver dollars, many of which were from Carson City! Forgotten for almost a century, the coins were worth much more than their face value, so the Government needed a way to distribute them fairly. Treasury turned to the General Services Administration (that’s where GSA comes from), who packaged each coin in its own black-colored holder known as "Black Packs" and sold them via mail bid. By the time the hoards sold out, demand was so great, that the General Services Administration had oversold them and had to return payment to over 300,000 collectors! Luckily, we’ve been able to find original GSA coins still in their original holders, each certified in Brilliant Uncirculated condition by NGC and sealed with an exclusive tamper-resistant label. Like every NGC label, it features the coin description, grade condition and registration number. BUT, this exclusive extra-wide label also shows an actual map of Nevada, with real photos of the Comstock mine and the original Carson City Mint. Best of all, it’s secured on the holder with an exclusive hologram featuring and image of Carson City Mint Press #1. This hologram appears ONLY on these special, collector’s edition holders, and are only available from NCM! Our Mint Master believes every collector should own one of these historic coins, so he’s authorized an amazingly low price – just $525 each. This price is over $100 lower than several other national retailers in the exact same condition but WITHOUT the exclusive NGC certification! (dates our choice)
