The myths and legends that surround one Henry McCarty, also known as William H. Bonney and better known as Billy the Kid, are plentiful. He is alleged to have shot and killed 21 men before the age of 21, including his first when he was just 12 years old. Some have said he killed a man “just to see him kick”. Others believe he shot a man for snoring too loud. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say more stories have been written about the outlaw Billy the Kid than any other gunslinger in the history of the American West. Garrett tracked him down to a friend’s house and left him there with a bullet in his chest – a bullet fired from his Colt Single Action Army revolver.
