Mount Rushmore Colorized $2 Bill
The Mount Rushmore National Memorial is an enormous sculpture carved into the face of Mount Rushmore in the Black Hills of South Dakota. It took 14 years to create and features the 60-foot heads of Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Roosevelt and Lincoln - chosen to represent the birth, growth, development and preservation of our great country. Originally each President was to be depicted from head-to-waist, but funding ran out in 1941, after only the heads had been finished. On July 4th, 2020, President Trump stirred up controversy when he visited Mount Rushmore bringing with him a traditional Fourth-of-July fireworks presentation, which had been banned from the memorial for over a decade. But that wasn’t all – his appearance also came with added displays of our military might as the South Dakota Army and Air National Guard joined the US Air Force in conducting flyovers.
