What started as a celebration of the 200th Anniversary of the “Night Before Christmas” poem has become a cherished holiday tradition here at National Collector’s Mint. The Night Before Christmas is arguably the best known poem ever written by an American (Clement Clarke Moore), and it has had a massive effect on the history of Christmas gift-giving. Our original bill proved so popular with collectors we just had to keep the celebration going. Now in its third year, our 2024 issue features sugar-plum fairies dancing in the dreams of a child in their Christmas PJs all snug in their beds. We’ve taken crisp, uncirculated U.S. legal tender $2 bills direct from sealed Treasury packs, then enhanced them with full-color vignettes honoring the magnificent imagery of The Night Before Christmas poem. Each bill arrives in a protective sleeve and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity attesting to its legal tender status.
