2019 MS70 Moon Landing Dollar
For 2019 we celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the very first moon landing. American astronauts were, and still are, the only people ever to set foot there. In response, the United States Government released a limited number of coins to mark this momentous occasion. Struck as curved coins, the obverse featured the footprint of an astronaut’s boot on the moon’s surface which is surrounded by the legend Mercury – Gemini – Apollo, the US Space programs that led to us landing on the moon.
The reverse of the coin is curved outward like a space helmet and features an image of the famous “Buzz Aldrin on the Moon” photograph taken on the moon on July 20th, 1969. You’ve probably seen this photo before, where Neil Armstrong, the United States flag and the lunar lander are reflected in Buzz Aldrin’s visor. All these elements are sculpted in precise detail on the coin along with the denomination.
These coins are no longer available from the government, but we were lucky to acquire some one-ounce uncirculated pure silver dollars. But these are not just any coins, these are perfect MS70 specimens graded and authenticated as Early Release coin by Numismatic Guarantee Corporation, one of the premier coin grading services in the country. Each coin is encased in an archival holder along with a limited-edition Apollo 11 label. And, for every coin graded with this limited-edition label, a donation was made to the Astronaut Scholarship Foundation to help develop the next generation of American space pioneers.
Now you can add these historic coins to your collection for just $139 each while we have them. Order today before our small supply runs out when they’re gone, they’re gone for good.
