An Obsolete Gold Coin
Every Collector Should Own
The now obsolete and seemingly odd $2.50 denomination was among the first gold coins authorized by Congress in 1792. Known as a quarter-eagle, the first gold $2.50 was not struck until 1796 but then went on to be one of the longest-running gold coin denominations. It was truly a gold coin “of the people”, as its smaller value meant the average person could have and use them. Of all the designs of quarter eagles the United States had, the $2.50 Liberty Head has the distinction of being the longest continuous production of any design without a major change. A Liberty Head $2.50 from the first year of issue in 1840 looks just like the Liberty Head $2.50 from the last year of issue in 1907, except for the date change! This is just one reason this coin is one our Mint Master believes every collector should own -- and he’s willing to back that up with a very special VIP price. For just $565 you can add one of these historic coins to your collection in very collectible Extremely Fine condition (date our choice). That’s over $200 lower than another national retailer for the same quality! Each coin will be encapsulated for protection and come with a Certificate of Authenticity. Call now to confirm your order!
