2016 CI "Mercury" Dime struck in .9999 Pure Silver

Item #:

Product Description

One hundred years ago, history was made when the U.S. Government struck the very first “Mercury” Dime in .900 pure silver. Now, history is being made once more with this non-circulating Cook Islands’ legal tender 2016 Silver “Mercury” Dime. And this special centennial issue is being struck in .9999 – that’s four nines – Pure Silver! That’s purer silver than what’s available from the U.S. Government!
The Mercury Dime is widely considered to be one of the most beautiful United States silver coins ever. Now, this striking surpasses all others as it depicts the classic winged head of Miss Liberty under the inscription of “LIBERTY,” and above the centennial double date 1916 – 2016. On the reverse, bundled rods are entwined with olive branches symbolizing strength and peace, with the official Cook Islands imprimatur, and the One Dime denomination. Each .10 oz coin is ~18 mm in diameter and is permanently engraved with its .9999 Pure Silver status.
