Civil War Confederate D-Guard Bowie Knife Popularly Known as the “Arkansas Toothpick”
The Bowie knife is a unique fixed blade fighting knife made popular by Jim Bowie who perished in 1836 at the Battle of the Alamo. The Bowie knife features a large carbon steel blade with a curved, keen point that is double-edged for more than an inch. It was designed for close combat. The blade had enough weight for a slashing attack. This reproduction features a carbon steel blade that is 10.25” long with a solid brass “D” hand guard and wooden handle. It is fashioned after the knives Confederate soldiers carried during the early days of the American Civil War, often called the “Arkansas Toothpick.” Comes complete with a leather scabbard. Bowie knives are popular with collectors with rare original 19th century models selling as high as $200,000.
